Startup Development (Ground Zero)

Ground Zero 2023.png

The Startup Development division organises an annual competition, a startathon named Ground Zero. Ground Zero spans over three phases: Phase Zero, Ground Zero, and Beyond Zero. The main event is held during Ground Zero over a 7-day period, with the final pitch and announcement of winners on the final day of Ground Zero.

Phase Zero consists of a series of workshops and masterclasses across relevant topics and spans a few months leading up to Ground Zero. This series of workshops and masterclasses aims to help prepare participants for the competition held in Ground Zero.

Ground Zero is the main event that spans over a 7-day period. The opening ceremony would be held physically on the first day, with activities such as the Guest of Honour’s opening speech, release of problem statements, and team formation. The next 5-day period (i.e. day 2 to day 6) would involve activities such as mentorship and other programs, as well as time for the participants to work on their submissions. Activities during the 5-day period may be held physically or virtually. The finale on day 7 would involve activities such as the final pitch, the prize ceremony for winners, and the closing ceremony.
