The Education division runs an NUS-accredited 2 module credit unrestricted elective named NES Start every semester, and are both pass/fail modules.
NES Start Phase 1 and Phase 2 operates through weekly physical classes on Monday nights where experienced founders, industry professionals, and successful student founders are invited as speakers to share startup knowledge, personal insights, and their experiences as well as conduct workshops. NES Start Phase 1 covers entrepreneurial content and knowledge on the introductory to intermediate level, and NES Start Phase 2 covers entrepreneurial content and knowledge on the intermediate to advanced level.
NES Connect is a competition where students from pre-university institutions (i.e. junior colleges, polytechnics, institute of technical educations, etc.) compete in. This competition is aimed at an introductory level of entrepreneurship, hence participants are not required to have a startup idea prior to signing up for the competition. The NES Connect spans over numerous days, with the first few days being various workshops, mentorships, sharing sessions, and time for the participants to work on their startup idea. This will lead to a pitch on the last day where the participants will pitch their startup idea to a panel of judges, who will then correspondingly provide their feedback as well as a grade in accordance with the grading rubrics.
